Streaming Media

"Streaming Media" is when audio or video content is played "as it is received"  by your computer. (vs. downloading an entire file and then playing it)  Streaming Media may be used whenever long pieces of content are being published online, or for live events which stream in essentially real time.

Streaming media requires the use of a media player such as real player or windows media player.
